Noda – Refuge – Oct 2017

This was a drama written by the very talented Betty Morris.  It was also good to see some of the young Magna members in the play.

Betty’s inspiration for the play came from current issues including experimentation in genetics, global warming and the madness of our World Leaders and how they might affect our future.  The result was a very compelling play that took these issues and made them into everyday for the characters.

False news was touched upon in the play and it did make you think about false news on the internet and wondering what is true and what is not true.

Taking place in a refuge it was interesting to see the different characters and how they related to the plot.  Charlotte Gwynne, Andrew Jones, Caitlin Lloyd and Shannon Jenkins who played Emilie, Jordan, Marianne and Clare respectively were very good as the special children.  The interplay between Tess played by Catherine Donativo and Ellie played Laura Gwynne was good and you could sense the tension between their characters.

Well done to all involved and thank you for having me.
