This was an original new pantomime written by the talented Betty Morris.
As always it is lovely seeing the range of ages on the stage and the younger members did very well considering that there was a virus going around.
It was a colourful show and the musical numbers kept the feet tapping. I did enjoy “if I were a rich girl” which showed off Red Riding Hood’s dance moves, played by Niamh Lloyd. The dance pieces were well choreographed and I loved Will, played by Laura Gwynne, the wood cutter’s dance moves as well.
Wilbert De Wolf, Sheriff of Nottingham, played by Dave Jones got the boos and hisses his character deserved and loved the look on his face during the Act 1 finale music number.
Well done to Serena the Sorceress played by Hilary Jones for staying on one foot during her first set of lines, it definitely would not be easy especially in front of an audience!
My favourite scene was Granny Magenta Hood played by Gareth Thompson, stripping to give the Sheriff her nightie. I also enjoyed the dance off between Robin Hood’s side and the Sheriff’s side.
Thank you for inviting me and look forward to next year’s show.
